Loan to clear Credit Cards

Apart from the super rich, we all need a helping hand from time to time when it comes to our finances. Most of us rely on some form of credit to help us to get the things that we want in life, whether it be a new car or a home of our own or whether it is for a dream holiday or funding for a wedding. Without the availability of credit many of us would be saving for a lifetime in order to get the things that we wanted in life, and this is why credit has become such a big part of our lives. The good news is that there are plenty of options available for those looking to take out credit these days, and no matter what your circumstances you will find some very effective and affordable products to meet your needs.

Homeowners in particular can enjoy excellent choice when it comes to taking out credit, and this is because they also have the option of taking out secured homeowner loans, which can often be far more affordable and a far more effective solution than their unsecured counterparts. So, why is secured credit more affordable and effective than unsecured credit? Well, firstly you can enjoy increased borrowing power with secured loans, and this is because the nature of these loans means that they are secured against your home.

The amount that you can borrow will depend upon the value of your property and the available equity in your home loans though can be arranged up to £250,000. You can also borrow over a longer period when you opt for a secured loan, usually from 3 to 25 years and this means that you can spread your loan over a far longer period, and you can therefore keep your monthly repayments down. Many people take out a wide range of credit, from personal loans and credit cards to store cards and more.

However, the monthly repayments and interest charges on different loans and cards can quickly add up – plus you have the added hassle of making a number of individual repayments each month. With a secured loan you can borrow a larger amount, pay off all of your other smaller financial commitments, and settle down with one lower monthly repayment, which means less hassle and lower outgoings.

Student Loans

The Student Loans Company actively contacts customers to discuss repayments and pursue arrears, and as part of this work we will now be sending letters to those who are consistently failing to repay what is due, requesting that they contact the Student Loans Company, (or, if appropriate, private sector loan administrator) within 28 days to discuss the options available to them.

After this date, unless there are extenuating circumstances, customers who have not deferred and are not meeting their repayment obligations will be registered with UK Credit Reference Agencies.

This is being done not only to ensure that loans are properly collected but to protect these customers from getting into further long-term debt through excessive borrowing.

Customers who engage with the Student Loans Company and make suitable arrangements to repay or to defer repayments will not face court action for as long as they keep to their agreed repayment plan.

Customers earning below £25,936 can apply for deferment and there is support available for those that need it.

Anyone affected by this announcement should contact the Student Loans Company (or other loan administrator) as soon as possible for advice.

This announcement only applies to pre-1998 mortgage-style loans.

Search For Hidden Or System Files In Windows XP

The Search companion in Windows XP searches for hidden and system files differently than in earlier versions of Windows. This guide describes how to search for hidden or system files in Windows XP.

Search for Hidden or System Files By default, the Search companion does not search for hidden or system files. Because of this, you may be unable to find files, even though they exist on the drive.

To search for hidden or system files in Windows XP: Click Start, click Search, click All files and folders, and then click More advanced options.Click to select the Search system folders and Search hidden files and folders check boxes.

NOTE: You do not need to configure your computer to show hidden files in the Folder Options dialog box in Windows Explorer to find files with either the hidden or system attributes, but you need to configure your computer not to hide protected operating system files to find files with both the hidden and system attributes. Search Companion shares the Hide protected operating system files option (which hides files with both the system and hidden attributes) with the Folder Options dialog box Windows Explorer.

Reduce Temporary Internet File Space

The temporary internet files clutter your hard drive with copies of each page visited. These can build up over time and take up disk space.

Even more bothersome is that instead of getting new pages each time IE often takes the page out the temp internet files. This can be a problem if you are viewing a website that is updated all the time. If you are on a slow connection such as a 56K or lower then this can be good but if you are on a fast broadband connection, like me, then you can get away with decreasing the size of your temp internet files to just one meg without any performance decrease.

Launch Internet Explorer.Select the Tools from the menu bar. Then select Internet Options... from the drop down menu.Once the internet options has loaded click on the general tab.Under the temporary internet files section click the settings button.A settings window will load.
Slide the slider all the way to the left so the size indicated in the text box on the right is one.Click OK

2.Select the files you want to rename. If the files you want are not adjacent in the file list, press and hold CTRL, and then click each item to select it.

3.On the File menu, click Rename.

4.Type the new name, and then press ENTER.All of the files in the series will be named in sequence using the new name you type. For example, if you type Birthday, the first will be named Birthday and subsequent files in the series will be named Birthday (1), Birthday (2), and so on. To specify the starting number for the series, type the starting number in parentheses after the new file name. The files in the series will be numbered in sequence starting with the number you type. For example, if you type Birthday (10), the other files will be named Birthday (11), Birthday (12), and so on.

Group policy for Windows XP

One of the most full featured Windows XP configuration tools available is hidden right there in your system, but most people don't even know it exists.

It's called the Local Group Policy Editor, or gpedit for short.

To invoke this editor, select Start and then Run, then type the following: gpedit.msc After you hit ENTER, you'll be greeted by gpedit, which lets you modify virtually every feature in Windows XP without having to resort to regedit. Dig around and enjoy!

How To Enable Hibernation

Under Windows 98, Me, or 2000 there was an option in the shutdown dialog box to enter the computer into hibernation (where all the content of the RAM is copied to the hard disk).
The shutdown dialog box of Windows XP doesn't offer any longer the hibernation button. Some users may get confused about how to enable the hibernation mode. If this mode is supported by your motherboard (ACPI) you have to do the following:
Click Start and Shut Down,

Point the standby button and maintain the shift key pushed,
A new hibernation button appears: click it while still holding the shift key: voila your PC will hibernate.

Unlocking WinXP's setupp.ini

WinXP's setupp.ini controls how the CD acts. IE is it an OEM version or retail? First, find your setupp.ini file in the i386 directory on your WinXP CD. Open it up, it'll look something like this:ExtraData=707A667567736F696F697911AE7E05Pid=55034000

The Pid value is what we're interested in. What's there now looks like a standard default. There are special numbers that determine if it's a retail, oem, or volume license edition. First, we break down that number into two parts. The first five digits determines how the CD will behave, ie is it a retail cd that lets you clean install or upgrade, or an oem cd that only lets you perform a clean install? The last three digits determines what CD key it will accept. You are able to mix and match these values.

For example you could make a WinXP cd that acted like a retail cd, yet accepted OEM keys.
Now, for the actual values. Remember the first and last values are interchangable, but usually you'd keep them as a pair:

Retail = 51882335Volume License = 51883 270OEM = 82503 OEM
So if you wanted a retail CD that took retail keys, the last line of your setupp.ini file would read:Pid=51882335

And if you wanted a retail CD that took OEM keys, you'd use:Pid=51882OEM
Note that this does NOT get rid of WinXP's activation. Changing the Pid to a Volume License will not bypass activation. You must have a volume license (corporate) key to do so.

Restricting Logon Access

If you work in a multiuser computing environment, and you have full (administrator level) access to your computer, you might want to restrict unauthorized access to your "sensitive" files under Windows 95/98.

One way is to disable the Cancel button in the Logon dialog box.Just run Regedit and go to:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Network/Logon

Create the "Logon" subkey if it is not present on your machine: highlight the Network key -> right-click in the left hand Regedit pane -> select New -> Key -> name it "Logon" (no quotes) -> press Enter. Then add/modify a DWORD value and call it "MustBeValidated" (don't type the quotes). Double-click it,

check the Decimal box and type 1 for value. Now click the Start button -> Shut Down (Log off UserName) -> Log on as a different user, and you'll notice that the Logon Cancel button has been disabled.

Password Recovery Disk

Take preventive measures against losing user-level passwords. It doesn't matter if you never again remember a Windows user password.

Thanks to XP's Forgotten Password Wizard, your conscience will be free and clear -- should your mind happen to accidentally misplace your user password.I highly suggest you create a password recovery disk the minute you create your user account.

Why? In order to create a password recovery disk you're going to need your password. Write it down the minute you create your user account and then proceed to creating your very own password recovery disk. Here's how to launch the Forgotten Password Wizard:

Single-click Start menu, Control Panel, and User Accounts. Click your user account name. Under Related Tasks on the left, click "Prevent forgotten password" to launch the wizard.
Now that you've launched the wizard, let it walk you through creating the recovery disk. Make sure the disk you use is formatted and in the drive. After it's finished creating the disk, label it and stash it away for an emergency.

If you happen to forget your password, all you need to do is click your user icon at the logon screen. Even though you don't have your password, go ahead and click the green arrow just like you would to finish logging on to your computer. This will launch a little yellow dialog box directing you to use your password recovery disk.

Custom User Icons

If you plan on getting a copy of XP, one of the first things you're going to do is set up a user account. Why not give your user account its very own picture? It's OK if you don't want to use a picture of your own because Windows comes with at least 20 beautiful pictures to choose from. Here's how you can customize your user account icon.

Single-click the start menu and choose Control Panel. Single-click the User Accounts icon. Find the user account you'd like to change the icon for and click on it.

Click the text that says "Change My Picture." You'll have the option to either pick one of the predefined icons or choose your own. If you like one of the predefined icons, just highlight the one you like and click the button labeled "Change Picture." If you'd like to use your own picture, just click the magnifying glass or the text labeled "Browse for more pictures."

This will launch a dialog box directing you to navigate to where your new picture is stored. After you find it, just click Open to save your new changes.

Speed Up Browsing

When you connect to a web site your computer sends information back and forth. Some of this information deals with resolving the site name to an IP address, the stuff that TCP/IP really deals with, not words.

This is DNS information and is used so that you will not need to ask for the site location each and every time you visit the site.

Although Windows XP and Windows XP have a pretty efficient DNS cache, you can increase its overall performance by increasing its size.

You can do this with the registry entries below:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache\Parameters]"CacheHashTableBucketSize"=dword:00000001"CacheHashTableSize"=dword:00000180"MaxCacheEntryTtlLimit"=dword:0000fa00"MaxSOACacheEntryTtlLimit"=dword:0000012dMake a new text file and rename it to dnscache.reg. Then copy and paste the above into it and save it. Merge it into the registry.

Set the Search Screen to the Classic Look

When I first saw the default search pane in Windows XP, my instinct was to return it to its classic look; that puppy had to go. Of course, I later discovered that a doggie door is built into the applet. Click "Change preferences" then "Without an animated screen character." If you'd rather give it a bare-bones "Windows 2000" look and feel, fire up your Registry editor and navigate to:HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ CabinetState. You may need to create a new string value labeled "Use Search Asst" and set it to "no".

Google Tracker System

Google Adsense Tracker is a powerful php script that keeps detailed logs of all impressions and clicks on AdSense ads on all your websites without altering the ad code itself.
The data can then be used to analyze the effectiveness of your sites, track different ad sizes and styles, or even individual pages.

You can track every click-through so you'll know what your visitors are looking for. This makes it easy for you to build more perfectly targeted, profitable pages.
It can track unlimited domains and pages. It's resource intensive and should be hosted separately.

Google Becoming More Transparent
There is no doubt that we’ll see Google becoming more and more transparent in its efforts to share click fraud information. They have no reason to keep quiet for much longer, as Ghosemajumder explained. Google is already filtering more than 98% of invalid clicks, before they show-up in the AdWords console, their goal is to filter 100% and suggestions they are not doing enough are misguiding in their eyes.

How to boost your AdSense revenue

AdSense often easier than affiliate programs

Google's AdSense is a superb revenue generating opportunity for small, medium and large web sites.

Some webmasters are designing brand new sites specifically for serving AdSense text ads. (It's against the AdSense rules to design a site purely for AdSense, so you'll want to include a few affiliate links or sell your own product, too.)

Adsense Advantages

AdSense is simple to join.
It's easy to paste a bit of code into your pages. It's free to join. You don't have to spend time finding advertisers.Google provides well written, highly relevant ads - chosen to closely match the content on your pages. You don't have to waste time choosing different ads for different pages. You don't have to mess around with different code for various affiliate programs.
You're free to concentrate on providing good content and Google does the work of finding the best ads for your pages from 100,000 AdWords advertisers. It's suitable for beginners or marketing veterans.AdSense provides simple, easy-to-understand stats. If you have affiliate links on your site, you ARE allowed to add AdSense ads. However, with your affiliate links, you must not mimic the look and feel of the Google ads.You can filter up to 200 URLs, so you can block ads for sites that don't meet your standards. You can also block strong competitors.
Inevitably, AdSense is competing strongly for space on web sites with all other revenue sharing opportunities. If you own a small web site you can plug a bit of AdSense code into your site and almost instantly relevant text ads that are likely to appeal to your visitors will appear on your pages. If you own several sites, you need apply only once. This makes AdSense much simpler than joining a bunch of affiliate programs.

Google Adsense Tips

Tip #1: Don't put ads on empty pages. When I reworked my site, I built a skeleton set of pages that had no content, just titles and some meta tags. I displayed ads on those pages, however. Although all you see are public service ads at first, the very act of displaying ads on a page causes the AdSense web crawler to quickly fetch that page for analysis. A page with good content will thus begin showing relevant paying ads fairly quickly. If you don't have any content, then, Google will have to guess as what your page is about. It may guess wrong, and so the ads that it displays may not be relevant. You'll have to wait until Google re-crawls the site for the ads to correct themselves. Here is what Google had to say when I asked them about how often the AdSense crawler updates a site:Thank you for taking the time to update your site. New ads will start appearing on your site the next time our crawler re-indexes your site. Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to control how often our crawlers index the content on your site.Crawling is done automatically by our bots. When new pages are added to your website or introduced to the AdSense program, our crawlers will usually get to them within 30 minutes. If you make changes to a page, however, it may take up to 2 or 3 weeks before the changes are reflected in our index. Until we are able to crawl your web pages, you may notice public service ads, for which you will not receive any earnings. It's better to flesh out the page before you start displaying ads on it.

Tip #2: Don't be afraid to ask questionsIf you're wondering about something, don't be afraid to ask Google. So far, they've always responded to my questions within a working day. There are two email addresses to use, depending on the type of question:Please feel free to email us at adsense-tech@google.com if you have additional technical questions or concerns. For general program or account questions, please email adsense-support@google.com.Their responses are always very polite, and they appreciate getting problem reports and suggestions.

Tip #3: Avoid non-English characters on English pagesThis one is a bug, to be honest. My surname is French, and I prefer to write it out correctly with the accent grave on the first "e". Every page on my site would then include at least two accented letters, because my name shows up twice in the footer. On some pages my name shows up two or three more times.Normally, this wouldn't be an issue. But on some pages the presence of the accented characters is enough to cause AdSense to display non-relevant ads in French. This happens whether the browser indicates a preference for French or not. When I reported this to Google, this is the answer they gave me:Hello Eric,Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We are currently working as quickly as we can to address this problem. As soon as we have more information for you, we will email you again. We appreciate your patience.Sincerely,The Google TeamUntil this is resolved, I've decided to strip out all accents except on the pages that are actually in French.

Tip #4: Check your keyword densityAlthough Google doesn't release exact details as to how they determine the ads to serve on a given page, they do tell us that it's the text content of the page that matters, not the meta tags. Before serving ads on a page, then, you might want to check its keyword density.

Google Invalid Clicks

How Google can Trace Invalid Click ??

I think you must be wonder how google can trace any invalid clicks or click fraud? I found this while surfing…We always hear that Google has a sophisticated system to detect the invalid clicks, and result in termination of the cheaters’ account. But, how can Google do that?

In this post, I summarize those ways that Google depends on to detect whether the clicks on your site are invalid or not. Google will not first ban your account immediately. Rather, they will first flag your account and Google will keep a closer eye to your account. In some occasion, they may send you a warning letter to notify your situation; but sometimes not.

1. IP Address It is the easist and must be recognized by everyone. If those clicks on your ads are originated from the same IP Address as the one used for accessing your AdSense account, your account is flagged.

2. Click Through Rate (CTR)Normally, Click thru Rate should not excees 10%. Otherwise, Google will flag your account. For your information, normal CTR should ranges from 0.5% - 10%.

3. Physical LocationGoogle has good tracing software and technology. They can trace traffics origin down to the small town. So, using different computers with different IP address does not secure anything. So, don’t try to click your ads in various internet cafes. That will kill you.

4. Cookies Most home users do not use static IP Address for Internet connection. In most cases just disconnect and reconnect will give you a new IP Address. But don’t forget, Google has set cookies on your computer. They can trace these cookies and see whether they originate from the same computer.

5. Click Pattern 1It is also suspicious when people click on their clicks and then run away immediately (hit-and-run). But normally, people will surf for a while inside your pages and then click on the ads they want.

6. Click Pattern 2why this computer / IP address / person is so trigger-click-happy on this particular website but never click on the ads on other sites?

7. Click Pattern 3And why is it that people accessing these sites direct (type-in URL or from bookmark) tend to be very active ad-clickers compared with those referred from search engine or other sites?

8.Other Google ServicesApart from Google Adsense, Google also provide a series of services to us. Don’t just think that it is safe if you do not log in your adsense account and click on your ads. What other Google services do they provide to us? Here are some: Gmail (most poeple are using it), Google Earth, Google Calendar, Google Search, Google Toolbar, Google Talk, Google Sitemap, Google Desktop, Blogger, or even Youtube (coz Google has just recently acquired it).

10.Hardware addressDon’t you know that your moderm, your lAN card, routers has a serial number which act like a fingerprint? These can be used as tracing evidence by Google. Google is very smart!

11. Search Engine RankingYour website is not indexed on any search engine, not linked by any prominent website, but get consistently high traffic? How come people can access your website and click your ads? That will make Google to smell a rat.

12. Webpage designHow about the “Please click a link below” or “donate us by clicking the ads”? These kinds of encouragement is not in line with Google’s TOS. Google can use their winning search engine, or even human eyes to check your sites from time to time.

13. Advertisers conversion rateAd click is one thing. But does it bring value to the advertisers? If none of the clicks on your site translate to conversion to the advertiser, you are in trouble. First the Smart-Pricing hits, then your AdSense account disabled.
